GRENADA

Patron saint of Grenada - Our Lady of Sorrows

On his third voyage to the region in 1498, Christopher Columbus sighted Grenada and named it "La Concepción" in honour of the Virgin Mary.

Here below are responses to Totus2us podcasts given by Grenadians
- many thanks to you  ♥

Anne

"Mary to me gives me strength, she gives me hope, I trust in her, I pray to her every day and I offer up to her my children into her loving care because she is the mother of us all."

Father Hugh

"I was going through a very difficult time as parish priest and it was very distressful and I was really down. It was on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception that I got up really early and I was praying, I went into the church and I took a statue of Our Lady and I placed her next to the lectern. When I was preaching, this feeling just overwhelmed me, a feeling of sadness, and I felt the presence of Our Lady, I felt her presence embracing me and consoling me, and then I understood why Pope Francis had said we all need a mother."

Father Hugh Logan is a priest of the diocese of St George.

John

"For me Our Lady is everything. Since I was as young as I can remember I've always looked on Our Lady as someone special in my life."

Judith

"Mary is the mother of all the whole world I think and she has to be considered very important for the world. So we all have to follow her, love her and bless her and have a strong belief in her."

"Totus tuus ego sum et omnia mea tua sunt.
Accipio te in mea omnia. Praebe mihi cor tuum, Maria."
- St Louis de Montfort

Saint John Paul II took his motto Totus Tuus from this quote.

"I am totally yours and all that I have is yours.
I accept you for my all. O Mary, give me your heart.”
