Cristobel

"I believe that Mary is the mother of all. She is the one who inspires us and if you want to get to the Lord, you go through Mary and pray through her."

Grace

"I love Mary as my mother. As a mother, I know what it means to be loved by a mother and so I really treasure her love for me and especially when I say the Hail Mary: ‘Pray for me, especially at the hour of my death.’"

Lucy

"Our Lady, she is my mother, she is everything to me. I have been praying to her every time, and I see what I get, I get the results."

Jacob June

"When I was young I joined the group of the Legions of Mary and it was from there that I learned the greatness of our Blessed Virgin Mary …Our Mother Mary has helped me so much. By reciting the rosary I have really received grace and that was what really made me want to join the seminary... My life is entrusted to Mary and Mary is totally ours ... So in my life with Mother Mary, I am trying to be in that kind of purity, that kind of blessedness because all of us are called to holiness."

Jacob June chose Cardinal Maurice Otunga as his Man for Others

"All my life I have been meditating on the life of Cardinal Otunga - he lived a very simple life, a life of celibacy, of simplicity, the life of poverty, of obedience, and this really attracted me .. At seminary, he was a very humble and hardworking man. He was the first Cardinal in Kenya and was a man who lived life to the fullest.. He really fought for the injustices in Kenya. He really was very free and spoke clearly to the people, telling people now to shun all the injustices and that people should embrace love. His main work was 'Love your brother as you love yourselves'. And the most of the time in his life he would meditate on the scripture of John, chapter 17; that I pray the Christian prayer that all my brothers and sisters may be one, and that they may be consecrated in spirit and in truth."

Cardinal Otunga was Archbishop of Nairobi; he died in 2003 and his cause for canonization has begun.

John

"I always try to say the rosary on a daily basis because I believe in the mother of Jesus and I know with her there is salvation because she is much closer to her son than I am to him and therefore she is able to intercede on my behalf with the son so that I can look to the future for salvation."

Michael

"I think Our Lady loves me more than I do her. She has this interesting way of dealing with me: whenever I contemplate her and I want to express my love for her, she immediately directs me to Jesus."

Ronald

"To me the Lady is more than a mother to all of us. Whenever I’m praying the rosary it’s her because to me she’s the most beautiful person who ever existed, she's God's masterpiece. She received all blessings, all favours, all graces, and the reason I pray to her is that she may get me some of those graces that I really need so that I may one day also join up there with Jesus Christ, as just we say in the glorious mysteries, especially the fifth one. That's the reason I pray to her but she's more than a mother - I could take a whole year just talking about Mary."

Sheila

"Mary is to me somebody that I lean to when I’m in need."

Vincent

"To me Mary has been a big help, a comforter and a great companion in my journey through faith."

Vincent's reflection of the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist

"It was a very tragic time, a very sad time, it was very hard for me but, over time, I think by divine revelation, I came to realise that all throughout these hard times - the fact that I was saying if anything happened to my mum I would not pray and then when she died the first thing I did was pray - it wasn’t because I'm holy or anything like that, but I believe the time I spent in front of the Blessed Sacrament gave me strength to deal with this grief and it also wouldn’t allow me to wander away from God, actually it brought me even much closer to Him. I genuinely believe that spending time before the Blessed Sacrament strengthens us in ways that we cannot explain but if we allow God He will reveal to us what we gain by spending time with Our Lord in front of the Blessed Sacrament. So for me the Blessed Sacrament has been and still is a powerful manifestation of God’s love."

Vincent chose the Book of Habakkuk for his Word on the Street

"It's encouraging for me because a lot of times so many things seem to be going wrong in the world and we think God is not aware of what is happening and we try to blame him for so many things but in fact everything is under control as far as God is concerned."

I accept you for my all. O Mary, give me your heart.”
