Laura

"The Virgin Mary is for me my mother and the person who is there for me when I have problems or in happiness or for everything, I think she’s there. She is my Mum, my dear Mum, and I always go to her to speak with her and she’s all for me after God. She’s my Mum.

La Virgen María para mí es mi Madre querida, mi Mamá a la que corro siempre . Es mi gran amor la que tengo para todos los problemas y para todas las alegrías. Es mi refugio, y mi intercesora."

Laura

"The Virgin Mary is my mother, always she is with me. Now I'm living in London and I'm from Madrid, and so when I have difficulties I pray the holy rosary. It is very great for me because she is helping me the whole time. Thank you so much Mary."

Luis

Maria

"For me, Our Lady can be summarized only by one word, the word is 'Mother'. And in the word mother comes everything that is holy and good in the world, like tenderness, love, care, protection, courage, smile, love, love, love, love. So, she's pure love for me, I belong absolutely and totally and utterly to her and she lives in my heart.

Para mí, la Virgen se puede resumir en una palabra, la palabra es Madre."

María Vallejo-Nágera is a writer; her most recent book "De María a María" was published in Spain in October 2014.

Maria

"Our Lady is half way between us and the Cross of Our Lord, because she was there at the foot of the Cross and when we find the Cross difficult, she is there for us as well."

Maria

"..."

Maria gives her something about Mary in Spanish.

Maribel

"I would like to leave with you this experience of growing up in a Catholic family, with the Salesians and having this feeling of Mary as a mother, which I think is very, very important for all the key important moments in our lives: when we have to take decisions, when we don't know what to do, when we feel lost, when we feel abandoned, when we are angry, when we think 'what is next?', well, Mary is there. So we just need to put our trust in her. And like St John Bosco used to say 'She's our mother and she'll be with us always'."

Martha

"Mary is my mother, she’s the best person of this world and the beautiful mother, the best mother and the most important person in my life. She’s the Mother of God and she’s my mother and she’s your mother! She cares for us .. every day, every moment of the day and I pray to my mother every day. I love Mary.

María es nuestra madre, la madre de Dios."

Norlean

"María es Madre sobre todo."

Paula gives her something about Mary in English & Spanish.

Nuestra Señora es la vía a Dios."

Pilar Santa Maria

"I come from a country so very family orientated, where the mother is the pillar. So our Holy Mary for me is the pillar of the family, of society, and always in silence, without us realising. She is the one who walks with us in this journey through life, as a loving person."

Pilar Santa Maria gives her algo de María in English & Spanish.

Ramón

Ramón gives his algo de María in English & Spanish
"For me, Mary is very special."

Ramón's Word on the Street is Mark 10: 46-52, where the blind man asks Jesus to have pity on him
"I like the audacity, the eagerness of this man who stops Jesus and asks openly what he wants."

Raphael

"For me Mary the Virgin is perhaps another part of the mystery of Jesus. As I really believe he is the Lord, to be the mother of the Lord is also something rather incomprehensible. This turns it on the one hand rather difficult to understand, on the other rather impressive and tantalising. Through my life, I have become more and more appreciative of Mary's role in Jesus' life ... I try to pray to Mary as a way of understanding Jesus' life and Jesus' experience and feelings."

Raphael gives his algo de María in English & Spanish.

Raquel

"I know that she is a very good intercessor for us because I know that God cannot resist anything which comes from Our Lady. So I pray the rosary every day because I know how much she loves it and also because I have a lot of things to pray for and it's always powerful, the rosary."

Raquel gives her algo de María in English & Spanish.

Rosario

"The very important thing to me about Our Lady is that she is the one who Our Lord chose to be his mother and that to me is everything."

Tina

"Every time I come to see Our Lady, Maria, I feel she gives me serenity and I feel more confident in myself and yeh, I feel happier every time I come to see her."

Tina gives her algo de María in English & Spanish.

Tomas     in English     en espagnol

Tomas's favourite passage in the Bible is the Wedding Feast at Cana - John 2: 1-11: When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

"This is my favourite passage because it's a party and it shows how this really works: Maria asks something to Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ did it. So many times I ask things to Maria, just thinking about the Cana wedding and how Maria convinces Jesus to do things.'"

Sister Tomasa

"The devotion to Our Lady has always been very strong. It comes really from my mother - she used to say the 3 parts of the rosary every day. We always said the rosary together as a family before or after supper. And I always feel that Mary our Mother is always by our side to help us and to take us to Jesus. Who can take us to him better than Mary?"

Sister Tomasa is a Sister Hospitaller of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She gives her algo de Maria in English & Spanish.

Victoria

"I am here incredibly grateful, after spending half an hour praising Our Lord and Mary. I'm about to go into the city and feel very peaceful as a result."

Marta: "Me too."

Zulema

"As a mother of 5, sometimes I feel that I need some strength and I need to know a way to follow in my life. I need her and, when I pray to Mary, I find what I am looking for - I have her love and her strength, and I feel more sure about my goal in my life and about my commitments with my family and the community in which I am living."

Zulema gives her algo acerca de María in English & Spanish.
